According to the letters sent by BCCI to the players, the players for the first season of the women’s IPL will be selected through an auction. The dates for this women’s IPL are yet to be announced. Also no information about the participating franchises has come out.
According to a Cricbuzz report, the auction for the Women’s IPL could be held in the month of February. In letters to Indian players, the BCCI has asked both capped and uncapped cricketers to submit entries online to enter the player auction. The deadline for this is January 26 at 5 pm.
What are the base prices of capped and uncapped players?
The base price of capped players in the auction for women’s IPL has been divided into three categories. In this Rs. 50 lakhs, Rs.40 lakhs and Rs.30 lakhs. On the other hand, the base price of uncapped players has been kept at Rs.20 lakh and Rs.10 lakh.
5 franchises in the competition..
According to the current IPL protocol, five franchises will be shortlisted from the auction register to prepare the auction list. Then they will be put up for bidding. Players in the ‘Registered Available Players Pool’ who are not sold in the auction can be selected as alternates, it said.
