The CBI investigation of YS Bhaskara Reddy and Udaykumar Reddy in the murder case of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy ended on the first day. While both of them were interrogated for five and a half hours, MP Avinash Reddy was interrogated for more than 8 hours by the CBI officials.

Mainly the CBI officials raised questions on the reasons leading to Viveka’s murder and why the murder was depicted as a heart attack. It is reported that MP Avinash Reddy was interrogated based on the information given by Bhaskar Reddy and Udaykumar Reddy. It is reported that the three were interrogated for an hour and a half. After that, YS Bhaskar Reddy and Uday Kumar were shifted to Chanchalguda Jail.

The High Court ordered MP Avinash Reddy to face trial from 19th to 25th of this month. The CBI was directed to submit the investigation report to the court. The High Court said that it will give a final verdict on Avinash Reddy’s anticipatory bail based on the CBI report. Avinash’s lawyer raised the judgments of the Supreme Court saying that it is illegal to include him as an accused by word of mouth. However, the High Court considered the points raised by Avinash Reddy’s lawyer.
