A bear fell into a well near Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala. Bhallukam, which came from the forest towards the city, accidentally fell into the well of a house. Locals who heard the sound of falling into the deep well informed the forest department officials. Kerala forest department officials worked hard to save the bear. On Wednesday night, officials and forest personnel received information that a bear had fallen into the well of Prabhakaran’s house in Kannampalli. A rope net was installed in the well to lift the bear up. But under the effect of the tranquilizer the bear gradually slipped and drowned. The officials who undertook rescue operations pumped out the water in the well and pulled out the bear with the help of a net. The officials who came for the rescue mission finally rescued the animal around 9.30 am.

It is believed that the bear came to catch the chickens that Prabhakaran was rearing. While trying to catch the chicken, two chickens were caught and fell into the well. An anesthetic was used on Bhallukam who fell in the well. Later, the bear was taken out with the help of a heavy net. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
