Telugu Politics: More marches in Telugu states.. Lokesh in AP.. Revanth in Telangana.. This is the way to break political dreams | TDP Leader Nara Lokesh, TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy PadaYatras From Kuppam, Bhadrachalam, Will They Attract People And Gain Votes?

Telugu politicians have been thinking that Padayatra is the only way to stand in the political struggle and achieve political goals in the public sphere on Telugu soil.

Currently the trend of padayatras will continue. In the year 2003, when the then opposition leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy started a long march.. Since that day, Telugu politicians have been thinking that the march is the only way to stand in the political struggle and achieve political goals. The month of January 2023 is going to be the most crucial month in the festival of Padayatras. In Andhra Pradesh, former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and former minister Nara Lokesh are preparing for a long walk. On 27th January, his padayatra is going to start from Kuppam in Chittoor district. Lokesh decided to walk for about 400 days and 4000 kilometers. A plan was made accordingly. Nara Lokesh also named his padayatra ‘Yuvagalam’. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Revanth Reddy, who has been planning to hold a padayatra for the last one year, but has been postponing it for various reasons, is also preparing for the padayatra from January 26. Revanth Reddy decided to start his padayatra from the presence of Bhadrachala Sri Ram and end his padayatra on the second of June (Telangana State Incarnation Day). Revanth Reddy has decided to march in about 99 assembly constituencies out of total 119 constituencies in Telangana. So.. In the year 2023, the main leaders’ marches are going to be held in Telugu states.

YSR changed course

In the year 2003 in the united Andhra Pradesh state, Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy, who was the leader of the CLP at that time. The march organized from Chevella in Rangareddy district to Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district changed the politics of united Andhra Pradesh. YSR Anand chose Padayatra to shed his earlier reputation as a ferocious leader and evolve into a public leader. It can be said that he succeeded in that goal. After the 2003 Padayatra, YSR single-handedly swept the Congress party to victory in the combined Andhra Pradesh assembly elections in 2004. After that, he became an unstoppable leader in the party and took charge of the post of chief minister, completely debilitating his opponents with his political strategies. In the assembly elections held in the year 2009, the strategy was made to get the Congress party to take power for the second time.. and it was successful. In the 2009 assembly elections, TDP, TRS and CPI contested together but could not remove YSR from power. But unfortunately he died in a helicopter accident on 2nd September 2009. Even after YSR, the festival of padayatras continued in the united state of Andhra Pradesh. Late YSR’s son YS Jaganmohan Reddy conducted a padayatra to console the people who lost their hearts after the death of his father. In the year 2013, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu also opted for Padayatra. If Chandrababu chose Padayatra at the age of 61, it can be understood how much its importance has increased.

Joru after the partition of the state

If we look at Padayatraparva we see more padayatras after state bifurcation in 2014. Jaganmohan Reddy, who formed the YSRCP party, held a padayatra for some time. His sister YS Sharmila left AP politics and came to Telangana in search of a political future and continued her padayatras here for a long time. Recently, due to tension in many places during her padayatra, the police refused permission for her padayatra. In this order, it is not yet clear when she will start the padayatra again. On the other hand, T.BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who has increased aggression in the Bharatiya Janata Party in Telangana, has so far organized a padayatra in the name of Praja Sangrama Yatra in five installments. Although the first two phases of the march were conducted smoothly, in the third and fourth phases, the ruling BRS leaders were intimidated by Bandi Sanjay’s words. As a result BRS cadre led to tensions between BJP cadre. In the fifth installment, Bandi Sanjay Nirmal was prepared to go on a padayatra from Bhainsa in the district, and the police refused permission on the grounds that it would lead to communal trouble. With the permission of the court, he completed the padayatra under certain conditions. Recently he completed the fifth leg of the padayatra. Currently, he is restricted to many internal meetings as part of party strategy writing. In this background, the BJP has appointed one incharge for each of the 119 constituencies of the state to be ready when the Telangana assembly elections are held.

More hikes in 2023

In this background, Revanth Reddy is ready for another padayatra in Telangana. From 26th January to 2nd June, he is going to undertake padayatra covering 99 constituencies. Meanwhile, Nara Lokesh has prepared for the padayatra with the intention of changing the changing political dynamics in the Andhra Pradesh state. From January 27th, he is going to do the Nara Lokesh Padayatra named ‘Yuvagalam’, covering 4000 kilometers for about 400 days. Over the past 19 years, many occasions have proved that the padayatras are useful for connecting with people. It is in this order that the leaders who want to improve the political future and reach the political goals are choosing padayatras. Now, in the light of recent preparations of Revanth Reddy and Nara Lokesh in AP for padayatras in Telangana, it is interesting to know what kind of strategy the ruling parties will make.
