The School Education Department has released the 2023-24 academic calendar for schools in Telangana. While there are 229 working days in this academic year, the next academic year will start from June 12 as planned. Also next year 24th April 2024 has been fixed as the last working day. Officials said that henceforth in Telangana, the fourth Saturday of the month will be No Bag Day for school children. Children will be freed from books on that day.. There will be games all day. Also 3 to 5 periods of games per week have been made mandatory. Apart from reading books for 30 minutes daily, they want to do yoga and meditation with children for 5 minutes. The tenth class syllabus will be completed by January 10, 2024. 10th class exams will be held in March 2024. SA 2 exams will be conducted from April 8 to 18 for students of classes one to nine.
As far as holidays are concerned.. this time Dussehra holidays have been reduced from 14 days to 13 days. These holidays will be from October 14 to 25. Christmas holidays were also reduced from seven to five. Sankranti holidays will be given from January 12 to 17. A parent-teacher meeting should be held on the third Saturday of every month. School Education Committee meetings should be held in the first week of every month. The school education department will soon issue guidelines on what programs should be organized on the fourth Saturday No Bag Day. Meanwhile, Telangana School Education Department has declared 2024 April 24 to June 11 as summer vacation in the academic calendar.
