Ts High Court Quashes Sit Memo
Key developments are taking place in the case of purchase of Telangana MLAs. The memo filed by the SIT to include three more accused in the case apart from those who are already accused, was also criticized in the Telangana High Court. It is known that the SIT approached the Telangana High Court last month to include BJP National General Secretary BL Santosh, Jagguswamy, Tushar and Srinivas as accused in the case. However, the High Court dismissed the SIT memo. Moreover, the High Court also upheld the ACB court’s judgment which had earlier dismissed this memo.
The ACB court dismissed the memo filed by the SIT in early December last year. Also, the ACB court held that the SIT, which is investigating the case, has no authority under law and order. In that order, the court said that BL Santosh, Srinivas and Jagguswamy cannot be considered as accused. The SIT appealed to the High Court against the judgment of the ACB court. Today (January 2), the High Court dismissed the SIT memo.
Meanwhile, the case of buying TRS MLAs came to the fore during the previous by-election. From the beginning, the TRS government has been alleging that the hand of the BJP is behind this extravagance. In the wake of the High Court dismissing SIT’s arguments in the MLA purchase case, it is not yet known what the SIT’s next steps will be.
