Perth Scorchers, who won the toss and batted first, struck the first blow at the score of 33 runs. Adam Lyth was dismissed for 7 runs. From here Faf du Plessis and Nick Hobson shared a half-century to take the team’s score to 103. Faf scored 68 runs off 33 balls while Hobson also played an innings with 46 runs. Josh Inglis batted fast in the middle order and scored 73 runs in 33 balls with the help of 6 sixes and 5 fours. Aaron Hardy also scored 30 runs. With this, the team scored 229/7 in 20 overs.
