The temple authorities revealed that the Maha Shivratri Brahmotsavam will be held from February 11 to 21 at the famous Shaivite temple of Srisailam. Evo Lavanna held a preliminary meeting with the local tehsildar, medical and police officers on the arrangements for Shivratri Brahmotsavam. Authorities have been instructed to prepare a plan for the 11-day Brahmotsavam. Devotees who come on pilgrimage have been advised to make arrangements with the help of the Forest Department at Kailasadwaram in Bhimuni pool. He said that more parking spaces should be provided than last year for the parking of vehicles.

Temporary accommodation, drinking water, rest and shamianas should be arranged for the devotees. All arrangements should be completed before the commencement of Brahmotsavam. A special full moon ceremony was held at Srisailam Bhramarambika Mallikharjuna Swamy Ammawarla Kshetra. Loka Kalyanardham performed rituals and abhishekams to the Parivar deities. During the festival, we are making arrangements for the devotees to visit their favorite deity without any trouble.

On the other hand.. yesterday (Friday) evening in the full moon hours, the Kshetra Giri was circumambulated in the temple precincts. Archaka Vedic scholars and devotees performed Shiva Namas. A large number of devotees took part in the giri pradakshina, which proceeded from Nandi Mandapam to Bayalu Veerabhadraswamy Temple, performing Shiva Namas. Later, the Utsavamurti of Swami Ammavarla was enshrined in a palanquin and the priest Vedic scholars conducted the Utsava around the temple. The hills of Srisailam are mesmerized by the remembrance of Shiva’s name.
