Shubman Gill defeated Virat and Dhawan who did this feat in 24 ODIs. Players like Babar Azam and Vivian Richards also took 21 innings to complete 1000 ODI runs. The world record is currently held by Fakhar Zaman who scored 1000 ODI runs in 18 innings.

Shubman Gill scored his third century in just 19th ODI innings. He became the fastest Indian after Shikhar Dhawan to score three ODI centuries. Dhawan scored 3 ODI centuries in 17 innings. Since then the player has not looked back. Gill’s ODI average is above 60. He is also scoring runs at a strike rate of over 100.
