The Rajasthan Royals team got a shock when they played a match at their home ground after four years. Despite the batsmen in the team who play lightning innings, the team could not break the target of 155 runs. Sanju’s team lost by 10 runs in the match against Gujarat Supergiants on Wednesday. Captain Sanju Samson (2) was unfortunately run out in this match. But he failed in keeping. Lucknow lost three wickets in the last over of the innings. Two of these were run outs and one was caught out. The highlight of the match was Sanju’s dismissal of the fast-playing Nicholas Pooran (29 off 20 balls). Krunal Pandya missed the fifth ball of that over. But Pooran runs forward for a single. Krunal Vadanna took the run. But the ball was late in getting into the hands.. Immediately the RR wicket keeper made a direct throw at the wickets with the speed of a bullet. With this, the wickets flew before Nicholas came to the crease. Puran cursed himself and went to the pavilion. A video related to Sanju’s throw has now gone viral on social media.
Apart from openers Yashaswi Jaishwal (44 off 35 balls, 4 fours, 2 sixes) and Jos Buttler (40 off 41 balls) in chasing the target of 156 runs, no one did much. Devdutt Padikkal (26 off 21 balls, 4 fours) had some flashes at the end but it was not enough for Rajasthan to win. Marker Stoinis (21), (28/2) led Lucknow to victory with an all-round performance. He was awarded the player of the match award in this match. This is Lucknow’s fourth win of the season.
