The Haryana State Transport Corporation on Friday honored the bus driver and conductors who saved the life of Team India cricketer Rishabh Pant. Rishabh’s car caught fire in a road accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. But Rishabh jumped out of the fire. On seeing the accident, Haryana State Transport Corporation driver Sushil Kumar immediately covered Pant with a blanket and took him away from the car. After that he immediately called the ambulance and gave the information. As soon as the ambulance arrived, Pant was rushed to the hospital with the help of conductor Paramajeet. In this context, the drivers and conductors who brought Rishab Pant to the hospital during the golden hour were honored under the Samaritan scheme. Along with mementos and certificates of appreciation for both, Rs. Kuldeep Jangra, General Manager of Haryana State Transport Corporation’s Panipat Depot, said that 5,000 Nazarana has been provided. He said Sushil Kumar saw the car hit the road divider and then stopped along with his conductor and ran for help. Zangra said that both the driver and the conductor are proof of humanity.

But the team India cricketer narrowly escaped from the accident. As part of the New Year celebrations, Pant went to Roorkee to surprise his mother. But he was involved in an unexpected accident and got seriously injured. Doctors say Pant sustained injuries on his head, back and legs, but his condition is stable. The accident took place around 5.30 am in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district. Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said Pant woke up and rammed the divider causing his Mercedes Benz car to burst into flames. A passing Haryana Roadways bus driver and the rest of the crew pulled him out of the burning car. He said that the car was completely burnt in the accident.
