U.S. Congress has blocked $33 million assistance to Pakistan, citing the detention of Dr Shakil Afridi. Afridi had helped the united states in locating Al-Qaeda founder Osama Bin Laden and was killed at his safe house in Pakistan’s Abbottabad in 2011. The US Budget passed by the Congress stated that $33 million won’t be given to Pakistan until it releases Afridi and clears him of all the charges.
