Modi govt’s warning forces WhatsApp to apologise for distorting India’s map

After the Modi minister’s warning, WhatsApp apologises for the incorrect map of India. The Meta-owned platform WhatsApp apologised and said it was an “unintended error.” WhatsApp has also deleted the tweet that had the distorted map and said that they will be mindful in the future. This comes after Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar called out WhatsApp and said “any platform with business in the country will have to use correct maps.” According to the law, a wrong depiction of India’s territory can lead to a police case against the offender and a jail term as well.
