Junior Asia Cup 2023: Defending champions India beat India with a massive victory in the Junior Asia Cup hockey tournament being held in Salalah, Oman. Team India rained down goals against Chinese Taipei in their first Pool ‘A’ league match on Wednesday.

In the Pool ‘A’ first league match against Chinese Taipei on Wednesday, the Indian team not only rained goals against the opponent but also won by a margin of 18-0. Chinese Taipei players raised their hands to do what the young Indian players did. Arijit Singh Hundal scored 4 goals for India, 2 in the 19th minute, 1 in the 30th minute, and another in the 59th minute. Amandeep also scored 3 goals in the 38th, 39th, and 41st minutes.
Apart from these two, Bobby Singh Dhami (10th and 46th minutes) scored 2 goals, Aditya Arjun (37th and 37th minutes) scored 2 goals and captain Uttam Singh (10th and 59th minutes) scored 2 goals each. Also Shraddanand Tiwari (in the 11th minute), Angadbir Singh (in the 37th minute), Ameer Ali (in the 51st minute), Bobby Poovanna Chandra (in the 54th minute) and Yogamber (in the 60th minute) scored a goal each.

However, not a single goal was recorded on behalf of Chinese Taipei. With this, the Indian junior hockey team won 18-0 against Chinese Taipei at the end of the match. On the other hand, Team India is going to face Japan in the second league match on Thursday. Meanwhile, the winning team in this Asia Cup tournament will directly qualify for the World Cup tournament.
