Jagannath’s Rath Yatra in Odisha’s Puri took place on Tuesday with grandeur. The whole of Puri became spiritual as devotees flocked in lakhs. As part of the Rathayatra, the idols of Jagannatha, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshana were installed on the chariots in the morning. After that they performed Mangala Harati.

Jagannath’s Rath Yatra in Odisha’s Puri took place on Tuesday with grandeur. The whole of Puri became spiritual as devotees flocked in lakhs. As part of the Rathayatra, the idols of Jagannatha, Balabhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshana were installed on the chariots in the morning. After that they performed Mangala Harati. At 3 o’clock in the afternoon, the Rath Yatra of Jagannath began amidst the cheers of the devotees. Many central ministers including Ashwini Vaishnav and Dharmendra Pradhan participated in this spiritual journey. Reached Puri on Tuesday morning and received blessings from Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati.
“We visited the Piri Gobardan Peetha along with Railway Minister Ashwin Vaishnav during the Holy Rath Yatra. We have taken the blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya’, Union Education Minister Pradhan shared this through social media.

The festival of Puri Jagannath will be held for 10 days. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will stay in Odisha for three days for this purpose. On this occasion, he inspected the Puri railway station.

The arrangements for the devotees were reviewed keeping in mind the Rathayatra of Lord Jagannath. All arrangements have been made at Puri station for the devotees coming here for Jagannath Rath Yatra. 857 special trains have been arranged for around 20 lakh pilgrims, said Vaishnav.
