Raghuram Rajan: Raghuram Rajan played a key role as the Governor of RBI during the UPA government. He participated in the key decisions taken by the then Manmohan Singh government regarding the country’s economy. His recent walk with Rahul Gandhi in the Bharat Jodo Yatra attracted attention. Raghuram Rajan is passionate about politics. The campaign that Rajan is going to make a political entry soon.. is going to be another Manmohan Singh. It is known that Manmohan Singh, who served as the Governor of RBI during the PV regime, later joined the Congress party and served as the country’s Finance Minister and Prime Minister. There has been a lot of speculation in the Indian political circles for some time now that Raghuram Rajan will join the Congress party in the footsteps of Manmohan Singh.

In an interview, Raghuram Rajan responded to the campaign that he will soon enter politics in this context. He said that participating in Rahul Gandhi’s Padayatra was his only response as a citizen of the country. But he clarified that there is no political motive behind this.

“I believe that democracy is our greatest strength. I believe that communal harmony is our greatest strength. I believe discussion is our greatest strength. I believe all of these are now under threat. So as a citizen, I thought to strengthen the voice of those who want to strengthen our systems. If the country moves forward in this way, the country will progress.. All the citizens of the country cannot live peacefully.

Rajan said that ‘internal harmony’ is very much needed in the country now. Responding to the inequality in the country, Rajan said that the government does not need to work against the capitalist system. But there should be competitiveness, he said, it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that monopoly is not formed.
