IPL 2023 RCB vs CSK: The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday was a thrilling one. In this match, RCB captain Faf Duplessis, who won the toss, chose to field.
Accordingly, Devon Conway gave an excellent start to the CSK team who started the innings. He washed the RCB bowlers right from the start. He scored 83 runs in 45 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes.
In the middle order, Shivam Dubey scored 52 runs off 27 balls with 5 huge sixes and 2 fours. Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja contributed vitally in the last phase.
Especially Harshal Patel, who bowled the last over, became expensive as he gave extra runs. Harshal Patel gave 1 run off the first ball of the 20th over and then bowled a no ball.
After that he gave away 1 run in a free hit. After that he again wide ball. Then another noball. Immediately the umpire stopped the bowling of Harshal Patel.
The reason for that was two beamer noballs thrown by Herschel. That means Harshal Patel bowled straight above the waist and made a mistake. The umpire gave a warning when the first beamer was thrown. But Beamer bowled the same for the second time and the umpire banned his bowling.
According to ICC rules, dangerous deliveries in the waist or chest area are considered no balls for the safety of the batsmen. The umpire warns Beamer for the first delivery. Repeating the same mistake will hamper his bowling.
For the same reason, Harshal Patel was banned from bowling after bowling 3 balls in the 20th over. Glenn Maxwell then bowled the remaining 3 balls to complete the 20th over.
