This is the fastest half-century in the 16th season of IPL. However, Lucknow’s Nicholas Pooran scored a half century in just 15 balls in the RCB vs LSG match at Bangalore today. As a result Rahane’s fastest half century record was broken in just 48 hours. Pooran’s innings also became the second fastest half-century in IPL history. Also, before Pooran, Yusuf Patan’s Sunil Narine also completed his IPL half-century in just 15 balls.

However, the record for the fastest half-century in IPL is held by Lucknow Supergiants captain KL Rahul. In the 2018 IPL season, Rahul created a record by completing his half-century in just 14 balls against Delhi Capitals. Also, in last year’s IPL season, Pat Cummins also scored a half-century in 14 balls against Mumbai Indians and equaled Rahul’s record.
