Asia Cup 2023: Controversy between Pakistan Cricket Board’s new chairman Najam Sethi and Jai Shah. After announcing the Asia Cup schedule, the PCB Chairman made key comments threatening the BCCI about the 2023 World Cup.

ODI World Cup 2023: Criticism started once again between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Pakistan Cricket Board. This time the matter is about the Asia Cup. The Asia Cup schedule was announced by Asian Cricket Council President Jaisha on Thursday. Then PCB chief Najam Sethi targeted Jai Shah. He said that the PSL schedule is also to be announced. But after this, Najam Sethi also threatened BCCI. He said that if India plays the Asia Cup at a neutral venue, the World Cup will also be played at a neutral venue.

Najam Sethi said, ‘What is neutral ground? Why should we play our tournament in a neutral country? India-Pakistan should also play the World Cup 2023 matches in Australia. Najam Sethi said that he will go to India to play the World Cup only if the Pakistan government gives permission. If the answer is no, the Pakistan team will not play the World Cup’, he said.

Is it difficult to host the Asia Cup in Pakistan?

Najam Sethi said, ‘In the year 2016 we had security issues. However, we went to India to play the T20 World Cup. We also talked about shifting our match to Kolkata,” he said citing the events of that day.

It is known that Asian Cricket Council Chief and BCCI Secretary Jaisha has clearly stated that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup. Jaisha indicated that the tournament will not be held in Pakistan but at a neutral venue.

Najam Sethi is in the path of Rameez Raja..

It is known that then PCB Chairman Rameez Raja opposed BCCI’s stance. He also threatened to boycott the World Cup to be held in India. Raja argued that the decision to award the hosting rights to Pakistan was taken by the ACC board of directors and Shah did not take the call on changing the tournament. Sethi, who is considered close to former BCCI officials, however reacted strongly after Shah released the road map.
