It is known that an elderly couple died after being hit by an RTC bus in Boyn Pally on January 1. Two elderly men died on the spot when they were hit by an RTC bus while they were crossing the road. With this Hyderabad traffic police started action. It has been revealed that 13 percent of the total road accidents in Hyderabad in 2022 were due to the negligence of RTC bus drivers. Statistics with the Hyderabad City Traffic Police make it clear that accidents are increasing due to RTC buses.

According to these statistics, 41 people died in road accidents caused by RTC buses in Hyderabad city last year. Among the dead were 21 pedestrians. According to the traffic police, excessive speed, signal jumping and rash driving are the main causes of these accidents.

Police revealed that 3909 challans were issued to RTC in 2022 for traffic violations. As part of road safety, the traffic officials announced on Tuesday that a special drive is being conducted in Hyderabad city from Wednesday.

Special attention will be given in this drive especially on traffic violations of RTC buses and heavy vehicles. He said that a special drive is being conducted on RTC buses to prevent road accidents.
