It goes without saying how holy the month of Ramadan is for Muslims. This month of Ramadan is a good combination of discipline, charity and religious thoughts. The spiritually important month of Ramadan is characterized by special prayers, fasting initiations and charity. During this month, Muslims fast from before sunrise to sunset without swallowing water, food or even saliva. Young and old regardless of age participate in this initiation with devotion. But this time in the month of Ramzan, biryanis and haleems were sold at a record level. From March 23 to April 18, around ten lakh Biryani and 4 lakh Halims were delivered in Swiggy. Swaggy disclosed this in his report. This year online food deliveries are 20 percent more than last year’s Ramadan month.
Along with chicken biryani and haleem, food items like samosas, bhajiya, malpua, phirni and rabdi were also sold at record levels. Swiggy made it clear that there were huge orders for dry fruits and fruit salads, but the majority came for Halim and Biryani. During Iftar, Hyderabadis made the most orders from Pista House Haleem, Paradise Biryani and Mehfil restaurants. Fasting Muslims have turned to online food delivery services like Swiggy to break their fast.
