The government has collected Rs.1.87 lakh crore from Goods and Services Tax (GST) in just one month. This is the highest monthly collection in GST so far. In April last year, the government collected Rs.1.67 lakh crore through GST. In this way, the government’s GST collection in April this year is Rs 19,495 crore more than last year.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised these GST collection figures. He said that despite the low tax rate, the tax collection in the country is increasing. 68,228 crores in a single day on April 20

On April 20, the Ministry of Finance revealed that Rs.68,228 crore GST was collected on a single day. This is the highest GST collection in a single day. This record was created with 9.8 lakh transactions that day.

GST collection in April 2023 is 12 percent higher than last year’s collection. Out of the total GST collection of Rs.1,87,035 crore, the central government’s collection ie CGST is Rs.38,440 crore. After this, the GST collections of states i.e. SGST is Rs.47,412 crores. Integrated GST i.e. IGST collection is Rs.12,025 crore. This includes Rs.901 crore earned through import duty.

Highest GST collection in Maharashtra

Maharashtra has the highest GST collection in the country. In April 2023 it was Rs.33,196 crore. Karnataka stood third with Rs 14,593 crore and Gujarat with Rs 11,721 crore.
