Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the river cruise ‘Ganga Vilas’ virtually on 13th of this month. Prime Minister Modi will flag off the world’s longest river journey. The journey will be from Varanasi to Dibrugarh via Bangladesh. Covering a distance of around 3,200 kilometers in 50 days, the cruise stops at several World Heritage sites and passes through several national parks and sanctuaries. This luxury cruise will pass through 27 rivers. In addition, the ship will stop at 50 important heritage sites, including World Heritage Sites.
The ship will enter Bangladesh via Farakka and Murshidabad on 20th and will sail for 15 days. It then re-enters the Indian border near Shivsagar. It reaches Kolkata via Ghazipur, Buxar and Patna. It flows on the rivers Ganga and Brahmaputra. Passengers enjoy special activities like music, cultural events, gym, spa, observatory etc. The ship will travel a distance of 4,000 kilometers on the Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers from the holy Varanasi to Dibrugarh through Bangladesh. River cruise Ganga will be the longest river cruise in the world.
