Earlier, withdrawing cash from your PF account was a long process. Had to visit bank or PF office for this. However, the Government of India has launched a new mobile application called UMANG. It allows you to withdraw money from your PF account sitting at home.
Now let’s know how to use UMANG to withdraw money from your EPFO account.. First.. Linking UAN to Aadhaar: To withdraw money from your EPFO account through UMANG app, you need to login to your account. Open UMANG app on mobile phone and login using your mobile number. Your mobile number verification is completed by submitting the one-time password (OTP) received on your mobile number.
After successful mobile number verification, here you can access all features provided by UMANG applications. Funds can be withdrawn using the UMANG app.
How to withdraw money.. First open UMANG app on mobile phone and login using your mobile number.. Select ‘All Services’ from the drop-down menu, select ‘EPFO’ option.. Alternatively, you can search for EPFO.
Select the option ‘Raise Claim’ from the drop-down menu. Submit your EPF UAN number to generate OTP. Now enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Select the withdrawal type.. Fill the required details.
After successfully submitting the request, you will receive an acknowledgment slip or claim reference number. You can use this reference number to track the status of your withdrawal request.
Other Features of UMANG App: Apart from withdrawing funds from your EPFO account, UMANG app also provides other features like requesting pension withdrawal, accessing covid-19 advance, employee passbook. You can also request scheme certificate, UAN activation, allotment through the app.
