Eden Theatre: We have seen many historical movies.. but this theater has a history of 124 years.. Is this the history? | Famous theater in France which is constructed in 124 years ago
We don’t have any direction for movie theaters built less than fifteen years ago. There are many halls that have become function halls. There are malls after the disappearance of theaters! Some have been converted into apartments. Multiplexes came and swallowed the single screen theaters completely.

We don’t have any direction for movie theaters built less than fifteen years ago. There are many halls that have become function halls. There are malls after the disappearance of theaters! Some have been converted into apartments. Multiplexes came and swallowed the single screen theaters completely.
Why I have to say all this is because there is a movie theater in France. Movies are still being shown in that theater which was built less than one hundred and twenty four years ago. This is the oldest movie theater in the world. Its name is Eden Theatre.
Located in La Ciotat, France. This is the oldest theater in the world! Started in 1899, this cinema hall rested for some years. Now it is running fast again..
Moving Train by Lumiairi Brothers was shown for the first time on this cinema screen. This theater started with a very short movie of minute duration. The audience cheered when they saw the train coming into the station and stopping on the screen.
The Eden Theater continued to run uninterrupted until 1995, thanks to the good fortune of 250 spectators who saw the first play, and the strength of their boni.
It is not known who was in the middle, but in 1980, the theater faced many difficulties. Theater owner was killed by robbers for money. With that, the song of the cinema hall went out for a few days. It’s not that movies didn’t run in theaters after that. Movies were screened in this theater for a year and a week. French films like Animutya were screened in the week-long film festival. This trend continued till 1995. After that it closed..
The people of France never saw the Eden Theater as a cinema hall. It was considered a historical heritage building. They fought to save that wealth. Due to their persistence, the local authorities came down.
The theater was beautified at a cost of around 80 lakh dollars, 49 crore rupees in our currency. The cinema hall has received a new makeover with newly fitted velvet seats, new carpets, mosaic flooring and yellow-green paint. Now the theater has become a tourist place.. Although it is a small cinema hall that can hold only 166 spectators, it is the heart of the people of France. They are proud.
