States and nations are counted in the same way as people are compared, saying that a certain man is happy and another is in pain. However, in a recent survey conducted in our country, the northeastern state of Mizoram has been ranked first as the happiest state in the country. Rajesh K. Pilania, Professor of Strategy of Management Development Institute, has studied this. However, the survey was conducted on the basis of six factors namely family ties, profession, social problems, religion, impact of Covid-19 and charity. The effects of these factors on the physical and mental health and happiness of the local people were examined. Finally, Mizoram was identified as the happiest state.
Also, Mizoram is recognized as the second state to achieve 100% literacy. In Vidyalayas, local teachers meet regularly with students and their parents. Students discuss any problem with their parents and show them the way to solve it. Mizoram’s casteless society structure is also somewhat different. Young women and young men are getting employment at the age of 16 and 17, regardless of whether they are male or female. Earning money at a young age is highly encouraged here. There is no discrimination between boys and girls. Also the report revealed that working women in Mizoram have financial independence.
