Team India Selection Committee, Chetan Sharma: All India Senior Men’s Selection Committee has been formed by BCCI. In this once again Chetan Sharma got the post of chairman.
Team India Selection Committee: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the new senior selection committee. Former fast bowler Chetan Sharma has again been appointed as the chairman of the committee i.e. the chief selector. Along with him, Shivsunder Das, Salil Ankola, Subroto Banerjee and Sreedharan Sarath were elected as other members of the committee.
The then selection committee was dismissed by the board due to poor performance in the last T20 World Cup held in Australia. Chetan Sharma is also the chairman of that committee. It is known that India has left the World Cup after losing by 10 wickets in the semi-final against England.
600 applications.. 11 shortlisted..
In a statement released by the board on Sunday, the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has received around 600 applications. 11 of them were called for interview. After the interview, an advisory committee consisting of Sasikala Naik, Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjpe recommended five names.
Big challenge before Sharma..
1. Border-Gavaskar Trophy: India hosts this bilateral series between Australia vs India. The Kangaroo team will tour India next month. This series is crucial in terms of the World Test Championship. In order to reach the final, the responsibility of defending the champion is also crucial.
2. Asia Cup: The Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan in the month of September. Winning this tournament is also a must before the ODI World Cup.
3. ODI World: After the Asia Cup, there will be the ICC World Cup in the month of October-November. In such a situation it will be a challenge to prepare a better team in front of Chetan Sharma.
