London: UK Khalistan supporter Avtar Singh Khanda died on Thursday (June 15). Avtar Singh, who had been suffering from blood cancer for some time, died in Birmingham, UK while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Avtar Singh was admitted to a Birmingham hospital in Britain on Monday due to illness. It is reported that he died today due to the deterioration of his health. But the exact cause of his death is still unclear. Avtar Singh was active in the Khalistan separatist movement. In the past, Avatar Singh played a key role in some banned organizations. Avtar Singh’s father Kulwant Singh Khukhrana also worked as a Khalistan Liberation Force terrorist. He was killed by security forces in 1991. Kulwant Singh Khukhrana’s wife is also reportedly a close relative of another KLF terrorist, Gurjant Singh Budsingh Wala.

On March 19 this year, the pro-Khalistan flag was disrespected by pulling down the national flag hoisted on the Indian High Commission building in London. Videos related to this have also been posted on social media. India has taken this action seriously. Avtar Singh was found to be involved in this incident. Expressing anger over this, the Center has issued summons to the senior British diplomat. The British government has been asked to give an explanation on this. Moreover, the NIA claimed that Amritpal Singh was hiding with Avatar Singh for 37 days while the Punjab Police was searching for him. In 2015, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to England, Avatar Singh’s name came to the fore.
